Courage for Every Season

Key Verse:
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."

Devotional:
Courage doesn’t always feel bold or fearless. Sometimes, it looks like taking one shaky step forward when everything inside you wants to shrink back. Life often places us in situations where we feel unprepared or overwhelmed—new opportunities, tough conversations, or battles we didn’t see coming. But the good news is that courage isn’t about feeling brave; it’s about trusting the One who goes before us.

In Joshua 1:9, God speaks to Joshua as he prepares to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land. It’s a daunting task, but God doesn’t ask Joshua to rely on his own strength. Instead, He reminds him, “I will be with you wherever you go.” This promise isn’t just for Joshua; it’s for you too.

True courage comes from knowing you’re not alone. God’s presence equips you to face whatever lies ahead with confidence. When fear whispers that you’re not enough or that the challenges are too big, remember that the Creator of the universe walks beside you.

Step out in faith, even if your knees are trembling. Whether you’re facing a major decision or just trying to get through today, God’s strength will sustain you, and His promises will never fail.

Take a bold step today in an area where you’ve felt fear. It could be starting a new project, reaching out to someone for support, or saying “yes” to something God is calling you to do.

Prayer:
Lord, I admit that sometimes I feel afraid and uncertain. Thank You for the promise that You are always with me. Give me the courage to step out in faith and face challenges with boldness, knowing that Your strength is all I need. Help me to trust You completely, no matter what comes my way. Amen.
