Embracing Change with Grace
Trusting God when life takes an unexpected turn.
"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!"
— Isaiah 43:18-19

Devotional:
Change can be hard. Whether it’s a new job, a move, a relationship shift, or an unexpected life event, transitions often bring uncertainty and discomfort. Yet, God frequently uses change to shape us and draw us closer to Him.
In Isaiah 43, God speaks to the Israelites as they face uncertainty and exile. His words are a powerful reminder that He is always at work, even in unfamiliar or unsettling circumstances. “Forget the former things,” He says, “See, I am doing a new thing!” This isn’t a dismissal of the past but an invitation to trust Him with the future.
God is a Creator, always bringing life, renewal, and hope where there was once fear or doubt. When we resist change, we can miss the new blessings He has for us. But when we embrace it with faith, trusting that God is in control, we open ourselves to His transforming work.
Think of a caterpillar transforming into a butterfly. The process is anything but comfortable, but the result is breathtaking. Likewise, God uses life’s changes to refine us, teaching us to trust Him in every season.
Reflection & Prayer Prompt:
Reflect on a recent change in your life. How have you seen God at work through it, even if it has been challenging?
What might God be inviting you to release so that you can step into something new?
Daily Faith in Action Task:
Take one intentional step today to embrace change. This could be starting a journal to process your feelings, reaching out to someone for support, or simply praying for the courage to trust God with the unknown.
Prayer:
Lord, I confess that change can be difficult for me. Help me to let go of fear and trust in Your perfect plan. Open my heart to the new things You are doing in my life, and give me grace to embrace them with faith and hope. Amen.
