New Year, New Mercies: Starting Fresh with Grace

January often feels like a month of new beginnings. Resolutions are made, planners are filled with goals, and there’s an air of possibility. But for many of us, the pressure to perform or "get it all right" can feel overwhelming. What happens when the to-do lists grow longer than our energy to tackle them? Or when life’s challenges sneak in before January even ends?

Lamentations 3 gives us a powerful reminder: God’s mercies are fresh every morning. He doesn’t run out of grace when we stumble. He doesn’t demand that we meet impossible standards before He shows us His love. In fact, His faithfulness is constant, even on our most chaotic days.

This truth is an anchor for us, especially when life feels anything but steady. Maybe you’re walking into this new year with burdens from last year still clinging to your heart. Or maybe you’ve already broken that resolution to "be more patient" or "stress less." That’s okay. God’s love isn’t based on your performance; it’s rooted in His unchanging character.

Each morning is a fresh start, not because we’re perfect, but because His mercies are. What a gift it is to begin again daily, resting in His grace!
