Rest for the Weary Heart
Finding peace in the midst of a busy life.
Key Verse:
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."
— Matthew 11:28

Devotional:
Life can feel like a never-ending to-do list. Between work, family, friendships, church, and everything in between, many Christian women find themselves stretched thin, constantly giving but rarely pausing to be filled. Yet Jesus offers us an invitation: “Come to me.”
This simple phrase is profound. He doesn’t say, “Finish your tasks first” or “Get everything in order before you come.” He invites us to come as we are—burdened, tired, overwhelmed—and promises to give us rest.
True rest isn’t just about taking a nap or a vacation. It’s about finding peace in our souls. When we stop striving and start surrendering, we allow Jesus to carry the burdens we were never meant to bear alone.
If you feel like you’re running on empty, take heart. Jesus sees your efforts, but He also knows your need for rest. He doesn’t ask you to do it all; instead, He calls you to draw close to Him. In His presence, there’s strength for today and hope for tomorrow.
Reflection & Prayer Prompt:
Reflect on areas in your life where you’ve been striving instead of surrendering. What would it look like to rest in God’s presence instead of trying to carry everything on your own?
Write down three things you can release to Jesus today.
Daily Faith in Action Task:
Take 15 minutes today to step away from your tasks. Spend that time in prayer, reading Scripture, or simply sitting quietly with God. Let Him refresh your soul.
Prayer:
Jesus, I am weary, and I need Your rest. Teach me to trust You with my burdens and to prioritize time in Your presence. Help me let go of the need to do it all and remind me that my worth is found in You, not in my accomplishments. Thank You for being my peace. Amen.
