Day 2: Strength in Stillness - Women's Daily Devotional
Key Verse for today: "Be still, and know that I am God." — Psalm 46:10
Devotional: In the fast pace of daily life, we often find ourselves rushing from one task to the next, our minds filled with endless to-do lists and worries. We tend to believe that productivity equals purpose, and that rest is something we have to “earn.” But in Psalm 46, God offers a simple, profound invitation: “Be still, and know that I am God.”
This stillness isn’t about stopping all activity, but rather finding a moment of peace within. It’s about pausing, taking a breath, and reminding ourselves that God is in control. When we choose to be still, we make space to listen, to reconnect with God, and to receive His strength.
Jesus echoed this invitation in Matthew 11:28, saying, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” True rest comes from releasing our burdens to Him, trusting that we don’t have to carry everything alone. In stillness, we find renewal for our souls and strength to face whatever lies ahead.
Reflection & Prayer Prompt: Today, take a few minutes to pause. In this moment of stillness, bring your worries and concerns before God. Let His peace replace your stress, and trust that He’s holding everything in His hands.
Prayer: Lord, teach me to find strength in stillness. Help me to pause, to let go of my burdens, and to trust You fully. Remind me that in Your presence, I find true rest and renewal. Amen.
